Nga Manu Korero Speech Competition
All students wanting to participate in Nga Manu Korero Speech Competitions please meet in Room 2 at lunchtime on Monday

Sport
FOOTBALL REGISTRATION OF INTEREST! If you intend on playing football this season, please register your interest at the sports office during morning tea or lunchtime. 
Basketball trials - U15 Boys trials will be held this Sunday March 6th at Walter Nash stadium.  The trials will start at12pm-2pm; U15 Girls trials will be held Sunday March 13th at Walter Nash Stadium.  The girls trials will start at12pm-2pm.

Football pre-season fitness training 
Football pre-season fitness training has been incorporated with the morning training's 6:30am to 7.30am, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of term 1.
If you not playing summer sport or any other type of sport activity then it is highly recommended that you attend these sessions.

Leaver Hoodies
The cost of a Leaver Hoodie will be around $65-75.00 (a confirmed price will be available soon). All money will need to be in by Friday 6 November. The Hoodies will be given out at the Leavers' Dinner. Copies of the design will be put up around school soon. Please see Rajan or Shanelle for more information.

TS Tamatoa​ - Sea Cadets
​​If you are between the ages of 13-15 and enjoy camping, tramping, sailing, target shooting, meeting new people and travelling to new places then come and see us at TS Tamatoa, 160 The Esplanade, Petone on Thursday 17 March at 7.00pm to 9.00pm contact person Helen Ray 027-371-2230

B.O.T. Student Representative
Remember that nominations for BOT student representative close today at 12 noon.  

Whanau Competitions
The first competition is indoor football. Prefects will come around to LARS this week to get the names of interested students. Don't miss out! mixed teams of boys and girls.

Defence Careers Experience
The Army, Navy and Airforce are combining to offer a 4 day recruiting experience for students interested in a career within the NZ Defence Force. All accommodation, travel and meals are free and it takes place in the next holidays - 18 - 22 April. If you are in Year 12 or 13 and seriously interested in joining one of the forces you should give this a try - Application forms available from the careers office.

Year 13 Victoria University Outreach 
Programme will start next Friday 4 March in the Library at LAR time. This is for Yr13 students who are taking a level3 course that will allow them to achieve University Entrance this year. If you are not sure about this come and check your subjects in the Career Office with Ms Burton or Ms Greenstreet. You can be planning to attend any university or polytechnic, not just Victoria but you MUST be doing a course that allows you to achieve Uni Entrance. You will learn valuable study skills and strategies to help you achieve well this year and this course gives you the opportunity to apply for Outreach Scholarships.
