Sport
Matt from Ignite Sport is meeting with students in the Yr 12 Sport Leaders program TODAY at morning tea. This will be held in the small gym
Find out how Tai Chi improves strength and fitness, different from other forms of exercise. Lunch time introduction on Wednesday 6th July. Valuable for sports players. Suitable for non sports people. All students and staff invited.
A new puffer jacket was found in the big gym last week. It can be collected from the sports office.
Lost property including sweatshirts, hoody, school shoes and some uniform items are in the Sports Office. If you have lost any clothing items come and check at the sports office during morning tea and lunchtime.

Fitness Studio
Fitness Studio will closed after 3pm this week due to lack of care of the equipment. Students who wish to use the facility may do so during lunchtime only - conditions apply. See Mrs Manuel.

Protein Bars
Protein Bars come in 5 yummy flavours. With 38% more protein and 38% less sugar than a regular chocolate bar, these are guaranteed to satisfy and are better for you! The bars are $2.00 each. Students fundraising for sport can collect a box from the sports office.

Senior Formal Fundraiser
Chocolate boxes have arrived! These can be collected on Wednesdays and Fridays at lunchtime from the office opposite Mr Russell's office. You will need to bring $36 for Cadbury bars or $43.20 for Whittaker bars. Please see James or Linda for more information.

New Books for Term 2 Session
Come and see the new books for Term 2 - it's a great opportunity to choose your holiday reading or find something new for your personal responses. See you in the library on Thursday 7th July at lunchtime.

Careers
Lifeguard  Course
There is an opportunity for senior students to train as swimming pool lifeguards. You will have to commit to doing a weekend Lifeguard course and getting a First Aid Certificate. There will be a good chance of work experience and paid work over the summer holidays. See Ms Burton in the Careers Office if you are interested.

Defence Forces Experience Day
The Army, Navy and Airforce are combining and running 2 experience days in Trentham in the next school holidays. You need to be 16 to attend. If you are interested in joining any of the armed forces you need to attend one of these courses while you are still at school. See Ms Burton in the Careers Office to apply.

Russell McVeagh Mentoring
Our next meeting in Wellington has had a date change - it is now Tuesday 28 June - tomorrow - Not Wednesday 29 June. Please let her know today if you can't attend

Otago Law Event
Year 12 and 13 students who may be interested in studying law at Otago or another NZ university are invited to attend this talk about law degrees and career opportunities in Wellington from 1 - 3pm on Wed 29 June. Professor Mark Hennessy is a great speaker. See Ms Burton in the Careers Office for more information

Otago University Visit
Year 12 and 13: Otago University will be in the Library on Tuesday 28 June in LAR time to talk about their courses - especially the Health Sciences Intermediate for Medicine. Dentistry, Physio, Medical laboratory Science. They will also talk about different Halls and the application process.

Rusell McVeagh Law Scholarship
Any Year13 students planning on studying law next year should apply for the Russell McVeagh Scholarship - applications on line at summerclerk.co.nz or from the Careers Office. Due next Friday - 8 July - so don't waste time!

PwC Scholarship
