Everyone who completes the survey goes in to win a prize draw at the end of the week and the first class to complete will also get a wee treat. This information will be invaluable for the career department to provide information and resources to help you on your pathway. Many thanks

Victoria University
Information evening for Victoria University in Wellington will be held Tuesday May 10th at the Kelburn campus at 6pm. The aim of the evening is for you to get all the information you need about study at the university. Please come to the career centre to get more details and timetable for the event.

Student Allowance
If you are already 18 years or turning 18 this year you can apply for a student allowance while you are at school. This is FREE money and you do not have to pay it back - you must be 18 and in full time education. The amount you will receive depends on your parents income. To find out more go to www,studylink.govt.nz and then student allowance. The best first step is to get a REALME Identity - this will help you apply for lots of things in the future. Overall, getting a student allowance is a long process and best started a few months before you turn 18. You need to have an IRD number, a bank account and your parents need to get proof of their incomes. Studylink experts are at the WINZ office in High ST
[opp MacDonalds] on Thursdays and they will help you and verify documents.
