COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This technology course is based on both Level 1 Unit Standards and Achievement Standards. Students are given the scope to learn basic workshop processes such as timber joint construction and assembly techniques. The learning process will also allow students to gain an understanding of new materials, electronic devices and mechanisms.

This is a practical course following on from Workshop Technology Level 1, with students producing a range of projects in the school workshop. Skills taught will include the care and correct use of machine tools, e.g. lathes, milling machines, engineering hand tools, measuring and marking tools and small power tools, gas welding and basic

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is a new Unit Standards course offered to Level 3 students who have prior workshop experience at Level 2. Students will be involved in constructing Level 3 building projects which will be constructed as a group-work activity.
