Professional Development 

The professional development of our staff is intrinsic to the success and ongoing achievement of our school. On a Thursday morning school starts at 9.40am so teachers can participate in professional development.  

Professional development for our teaching staff is allocated time for any of the following:
  • Study and research
  • Team meetings
  • Professional Conferences / workshops / meetings
  • Visits to other schools
  • Peer coaching
  • Rock and Water
Rock and Water New Zealand Ltd provides NZ-wide professional development workshops for educators (teachers, youth workers, mental health professionals, police officers, anti-violence workers etc) wanting to develop social skills, self-control, self-confidence and self-realisation for students and adults using the Rock and Water programme. The Rock and Water programme is also used in a multitude of ways including use as a very effective anti-bullying tool, to help students with ASD and special needs develop confidence, body and emotional awareness, and to develop positive, healthy education and work environments.
